Steering her closer to His flank with a tail, He smiled slightly and hugged her close with His wing. "Thank you, darling. You're exquisite at helping Me with a funk."

She snuggled into him, lending what warmth she could, her hands around him lovingly and that love reflected in her eyes.

"I'm sorry I nearly forgot, love," she brushed him gently with the back of her hand, full of tenderness.

His flank radiating warmth back like a scaled electric blanket, He turned His head back and lay it down right by her, great eyes sad and content at the same time. "It's all right, darling. You're the only gift I desire. I just remember all the people I'm not celebrating it with.. but enough of the past for now."

Eyes shining with love, He nuzzled her petite form.
